Hey guys, Rose here. Random topic for today, but something I hope will get some laughs, and maybe start some interesting talks.
Hairless Pets. We've all seen them, right?
The most common and well known, is probably the hairless cat. Technically the "Sphinx" cat, but come on, let's face it - we all just say hairless cat.
Personally, they kind of make me uncomfortable. I know people who have them love them, and wouldn't trade them for anything, same as people with furry friends.
I'm sure if I ever got one or had to care for one, I'd end up enjoying it. I'm sure I'd love it to pieces, think it was adorable, and wonder why friends twist up their face when they see it.
Right now though, I'm still one of those friends. I'm sure it's sweet, and I want to get to know animals of any kind. But, yikes. It still makes me a little...ick.
Probably because of the strong mental image and security fact: pets have fur. Animals that don't need heat lamps have fur. I'm not too keen on any animal that doesn't, and I think that's really it. Fur babies are pets...heat lamp babies are eccentricities.
Hairless pets remind me of snakes. Or hairless moles. Kinda creepy!! lol
When I see a sphinx, I end up with the mental image of a snake-cat hybrid. It doesn't seem natural in the general law of pets.
Anyway, it got me curious: what do you guys think of hairless vs furry? Does it bother you one way or another? Let us know in the comments below!
Personally, this sorta thing is just beyond adorable:
